In Collingwood, just a 15-minute drive from the city, there’s a magical burger restaurant. The train carriage restaurant is named Easeys, easily visible on the streets of Fitzroy. It’s recommended to make reservations for a carriage seat, especially for 3-4 people or for early bookings. You can reserve a window seat.
The menu can be viewed by scanning a QR code on your phone for reference pictures. The cheese fries are quite good. Tods are chunky potato wedges; if you’ve ordered fries, there’s no need to order them separately.
Inside the carriage, the original driver’s cabin is still preserved. You can enjoy the view of the entire Collingwood neighborhood from the front of the train and even touch the antique train control panel.
Experience
If you’re thinking of dining on the rooftop in the tram, be sure to remember to make a reservation in advance on the restaurant’s official website for a position in the top-floor tram zone 2. Otherwise, zone 1 is the indoor dining area on the ground floor. The train’s front end is a dining spot for six people, so if you have many friends, you can enjoy the happiness of being at the train’s front end together.
As mentioned, they are divided into two sections: The train table & Zone 1 table!
Train table — Located on the upper floor inside the tram, suitable for photography, reservations are necessary for this.
Zone 1 — On the ground floor, the tables and chairs are also reminiscent of a tram, although it lacks the feeling of being inside a tram!
On the rooftop outside the carriage, there is a small terrace with two or three tables. You can also choose to dine here!
Food we tried
Their Oklahoma Fried Onion Cheeseburger must not be missed here. Freshly fried onions and tender beef patty blend perfectly! Highly recommended!
BBQ BCN Cheeseburger combines a smoky flavour with crispy bacon, and it works quite well. And the chicken wings are quite tasty too!
For burgers, you can choose between a single or double patty!
Price
Easey’s prices are quite affordable. Along with the aerial restaurant offering a view of the entire Collingwood, the environment is suitable for a casual drink with friends. Dining in an elevated tram feels truly unique.
Overall, it’s worth exploring. You can stroll around the neighbourhood before or after your meal!
