Tesselaar Tulip Festival

The annual Tesselaar Tulip Festival kicks off in mid-September, featuring a five-acre flower field with over a million tulips in bloom. Each day, there are exciting live entertainment performances and themed activities, along with sightseeing tractors and plenty of delicious treats to keep you captivated!

Events and Activities

September 16-17, Turkish Weekend Tulips originated in Turkey, and over 400 years ago, they held the world’s first tulip festival. Enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine, handicrafts, live music, and entertainment.

September 18-21 and September 25-28, Children’s Week In the first week, there’s a live interactive experience with Bluey and bingo games. In the second week, Peppa Pig and George join for their stage show. Kids can also get up close and personal with Australian wildlife at Black Snake Productions. Face painting, treasure hunts, garden games, and the Tulip Train ensure that children have a blast!

Getting Here

To get to Melbourne, you can take a scenic drive through the Dandenong Ranges, about a 40 km journey that takes around an hour. Parking at the festival is free.

If driving isn’t convenient, you have other options:

Take a train to Lilydale or Belgrave stations – both about a 20-minute drive from the farm.

From the station, hop on Bus 663 to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival.

On weekends and public holidays, buses run from Lilydale station (connects with trains) directly to the farm. It’s only $5 per person, and children under 16 (accompanied by an adult) ride for free.

Children under 16 get in for free, adults range from $19.5 to $33.5.

Discounted tickets are available on October 2-5 and October 9-12.
