The Mucha art exhibition has finally come to Sydney

We have always loved the various art pieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. And we’re especially fond of Mucha!

We heard about a Mucha exhibition (Alphonse Mucha: Spirit of Art Nouveau) in early May and immediately bought tickets for the first day. With over 200 original works on display, the curation is exceptional and truly a feast for the eyes!

What we think

The experience area is fantastic, making you feel as if you’ve stepped into Mucha’s paintings and can personally experience the history and culture of that era. It is definitely worth a visit!

Both the quality and quantity of the works are impressive. The exhibition is divided into nine sections, covering different periods. The digital dynamic displays are also stunning, and the background music is perfectly matched.

Mucha started with posters and illustrations. We couldn’t resist buying a lot of printed artworks to take home. The early poster works feature delicate lines and ornate decorations, complemented by sculptures and photographs that fully showcase the Art Nouveau movement and Mucha’s personal style.

Highly recommend this exhibition! There are guided tours every day at 12 pm and 2 pm, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly.

The exhibition merchandise is also very appealing, and you can visit the Gallery shop across the street after exploring the exhibit.

The exhibition runs from June 15 to September 22 at the new Art Gallery of New South Wales. There is a row of parking spaces at the entrance, $9 per hour.
