Erskine Falls is also surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape that makes it an ideal spot for hiking and exploring. You can take the walking trail from the lookout platform and explore the rainforest surrounding the waterfall, which is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.

Sheoak Falls

The waterfall cascades down approximately 15 meters from the rocky terrain into a tranquil pool, encircled by verdant and lush trees.

The trail from the parking lot to the waterfall is approximately 700 meters one way, consisting of a blend of steps and regular walking paths. Along the way to the waterfall, you’ll be treated to views of the ocean and have the opportunity to capture some great photos of the Great Ocean Road.

Henderson Falls

The Henderson Falls offer a breathtaking sight that is best observed during the Winter and Spring seasons, especially after a generous rainfall. However, it is not recommended to visit during Summer and Autumn as the lack of rainfall causes the water flow to decrease significantly. To access the falls, visitors can start from Sheoak Picnic Ground or embark on a longer hike from Allenvale Road car park, passing through Phantom Falls and the Canyon. It is important to note that the trail can be quite muddy and it is advisable to wear sturdy hiking shoes or gumboots for a comfortable experience.

Triplet Falls

The Triplet Falls are truly stunning and can be accessed via a one-hour return hiking trail that features a blend of steps and paths. The hike is simply gorgeous, surrounded by the peaceful shade of trees and ferns, with the melodic chirping of birds to accompany you throughout. The trail is also dotted with informative signs that provide insight into the natural environment and the logging history of the area.

Phantom Falls

Phantom Falls is truly amazing! Although it requires a bit of a hike with some steep slopes, it is definitely worth the effort. Unfortunately, the viewing platform at the top doesn’t offer much of a view, but there is a path that leads down to the base where you can get up close and personal with the waterfall. Keep in mind that the rocks can be quite slippery in winter, so it’s important to wear sturdy hiking shoes if you plan on going down to the base.

Upper Kalimna Falls

This hidden gem is nestled within the stunning Great Otway National Park and could easily be considered one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the area. The 5.5km return hike to the Lower Kalimna Falls takes you through a picturesque creek valley where you can admire towering ferns and magnificent blue gums. The path to the lower falls is generally an easy one, but during periods of heavy rain, it can become quite muddy and obstacles such as fallen trees and branches may need to be navigated. If you’re feeling adventurous, continue on to Upper Kalimna Falls!
