The wet season in Cairns runs from December to February which is also the summer period. Summer in Cairns is considered to be the wet season or monsoon season as it is the wettest time of the year. During this time, Cairns experiences higher temperatures, higher humidity, and frequent rainfall although it doesn’t stop the tourists from visiting Cairns as most of the time the rain showers occur in the evenings or overnight.
