Cat Alley in Surry Hills – McElhone Place

Cat Alley in Surry Hills - McElhone Place

Last time strolling around Moore Park West, we stumbled upon McElhone Place, also known as the Cat Alley! We saw a few cats the day we went! At the entrance of the alley, there’s a sign saying “Cat Crossing” which is just heartwarming! If you’re lucky, you might actually see lazy cats basking in the sun! Next to the cat sign, there are also large clusters of hydrangeas.

What we think

The alley isn’t large, but you can tell it’s meticulously maintained! It is really clean and exquisite, adorned with pale pink, white, and light blue flowers.

The garden here is simply beautiful, filled with all sorts of flowers and plants, and there’s a two-story house covered in hydrangeas, it’s practically a cascade of them.

This big orange cat seems to make frequent appearances here in the Alley! It was just lounging on a bench at the street corner, basking in the sun without a care, completely friendly and welcoming to anyone who wanted to pet it!
