Best Things to Do with Kids in Gosford

Just an hour’s drive from Sydney, GOSFORD is perfect for a day trip!

Gosford is a place we’ve been taking our kids to quite often in the past year. It’s like a fairly large town with everything you could need. The downside is that on Sundays, everything is closed except for a few restaurants, so every time we go, we end up eating at the same Thai restaurant!

Best Things to Do in Gosford

Here are places you can visit, and you can choose your favourite activities to combine into a day of fun.

Nougat & Chocolate Factory

Opening Hours: 9-4, Open daily

Factory TOUR: Wed-Fri, $10/person, 20-30 minutes. Three time slots: 10 am, 11:30 am, 1 pm. Groups of 12.

Chocolate Workshop for 5-12 year olds: $50, 80 minutes. Only on weekends, at 9:30 am and 11:30 am.

Other than the chocolates and candies, the cafe also offers hot chocolate, ice cream, light meals, etc. The cafe is considerate enough to provide brushes and paper, as well as different picture books for children, allowing parents to enjoy their tea quietly!

Gosford Regional Art Gallery and Japanese Garden

The art gallery is free to visit, but the exhibition space is small, with few exhibits. Personally, we think the outdoor Japanese garden of the art gallery is the highlight, suitable for bringing children to see the koi fish, and buy $2 fish food to feed them, a favourite of children!

Gosford Waterfront Park

A large outdoor playground, with large climbing structures and long slides, right by the harbour, with stunning views!

But be prepared for sun protection, as there is not much shade here.

Clip & Climb

An indoor self-service themed climbing gym inside the Gosford League Club. It’s similar to Preston and Bankstown Sports Club’s Turbo Climb, but we think it’s worth trying if you haven’t played before.

There are fewer people here compared to Turbo Climb, but the atmosphere is better. The best part is that parents don’t need to hold on below; children can handle climbing activities on their own!

Price: $20 per hour, with two more exciting projects available at an additional cost.

Where to eat

You must try the Gosford Hotel. The exterior is unremarkable, but the newly renovated dining environment inside is nice, and the food tastes great! A must-try is the red wine braised clams.
