We finally booked a visit to Berrylicious strawberries farm today! Once you’ve parked your car, you can simply find a staff member at the entrance to check your electronic ticket. Then, they will provide you with a paper box and two pairs of scissors, teach you how to pick strawberries, and give you an introduction to the picking grounds.
Picking and eating on the spot incur no additional charges, while strawberries packed in boxes for takeaway are priced at $25 per kilogram.
We must say, the strawberries there are really tasty and ripe ones are very sweet, a world of difference from those at Woolworths or Coles (of course, it’s quite expensive, but the experience is worth it).
The strawberry racks are very friendly for shorter folks around 160cm. However, for taller people (like above 170cm), your neck may be sore!
Tips before you go
Friendly reminder, remember to bring a big bottle of water (a sports bottle is convenient for rinsing, or a basin). It’s okay for adults to eat without rinsing, but for kids, it’s better to rinse them slightly before eating.
After picking, you can head to the nearby train museum to see vintage trains and even take a ride on a real steam train (it’s about a 3-minute drive from the strawberry farm). Remember to book online for that too.
Fee and how to book
Adults: 22 AUD, Kids: 11 AUD (free for kids under 2). Takeaway strawberries cost 25 AUD/kg after picking.
