We went to Aquatopia in Fairfield with friends and their families. We booked the tickets on the official website, and it cost $67 for two adults and two children, or $67 for two adults and one child. As an adult, paid $20.5.
The park has many shaded areas where you can leave your belongings, so you don’t necessarily have to find an umbrella on the lawn. There are free lockers near the big wave pool, but you need to download an app. We didn’t use lockers this time and just left our things on the lawn.
Slides and pools
We like thrilling activities, so we pretty much tried everything in the park. The most exciting one was the 20m blue slide (flush toilet), followed by the 10m yellow slide, both having a bit of free fall.
The two surfing pools are worth experiencing. I tried the small one once, and the big one three times. The waiting time for the small pool is longer because they want everyone to enjoy their turn.
The 10m blue slide with twists and turns is quite entertaining, being a rare semi-open slide where you can open your eyes and enjoy the scenery!
In terms of strategy, the queues for the three lanes of the 20m blue slide are the longest. You can try other activities first and join the queue when it’s less crowded during lunchtime. For the two big surfing areas, it’s essential to grab them early. An hour before closing, the queues for other activities are shorter, so you can choose what you want to play.
What to eat
Food is available for purchase inside, but many people bring their own for a picnic (you can bring any food, no security checks like in some places). You can also book BBQ equipment inside, and many kids have birthday parties there. We were so caught up in the fun that we only had sandwiches from 12 pm to 5 pm, and neither adults nor kids felt hungry.
Restrooms are mainly concentrated near the entrance. We went directly in our swimsuits to save time.
