Sydney’s weekend getaway destination just got a new favourite – the renowned Ocean Farm! We finally got to visit, its popularity is well-deserved!
What is it like to stay in a room with an ocean view in every room? Opening the curtains reveals cow pastures and unbeatable ocean views. The location is also excellent. The private farm is very quiet, with cows and horses. It is a 10-minute drive from Kiama, and there are also many highly-rated brunch spots nearby.
Getting there
The drive from Sydney to Kiama takes about an hour and forty minutes. The route to Kiama is one of the most scenic ones around Sydney. The sea is incredibly blue, and the expansive coastal farmland views are amazing!
The road is incredibly straightforward, without any confusing twists and turns. The main road leads directly to the large farm. The moment you turn into Ocean Farm, you’ll be struck by its beauty!
What we think
There are four rooms and a game room. All rooms face the farm and the ocean, offering the same view as in my photos, with the horizon where you can see the sunrise. You can wake up to the sunrise over the coastline just by opening the curtains in the morning!
The decor is very comfortable, and the place is kept very clean. Each room has its own bathroom, so you don’t have to worry about disturbing others which makes it perfect for a trip with friends!
The living room has a fireplace, which surprisingly became the our favourite activity, just burning firewood and watching the fire, adding a great ambiance in the evenings.
The infinity pool is the most spectacular feature. The weather was perfect during our stay, making it ideal for a swim. Both adults and kids had a blast.
During our three-day stay, we barely went anywhere else. We visited Loves Bay, but found the scenery there couldn’t compare to our hotel. So, we decided to just stay put and enjoy the place.
The farm has its own cows, perfect for a leisurely walk if you feel like it. If not, just stay at the hotel, order takeout, do some yoga, chat, meditate and relax!
