The Immigration Museum has unveiled its latest exhibition, “JOY,” which merges creativity, colour, and thematic storytelling. Seven exhibition zones have been established by artists from seven continents, collectively exploring the meaning of happiness through vibrant colours. At the entrance, there’s a colourful sharing wall where visitors can contribute by sharing what brings them joy!
What we think
It’s been a few weeks since we last came to the City. Today, we came to check out the new exhibition Joy at the Immigration Museum. The entire exhibition showcases Joy manifested through different life stages, such as the large rabbit from childhood, the nostalgic DVD rental shop from adolescence, and the pillow hut perfect for adults to relax in, all embodying the theme of Joy.
Overall there are several areas within the exhibition are particularly photogenic, such as the colourful slide corridor at the entrance, the Phoenix sculpture, oversized dolls, the yellow house, and a 90s DVD store, among others.
Interactive features include the entrance sharing wall and colourful columns, which utilise AR technology to display changing electronic patterns. The entire exhibition takes about 1 hour to explore, with both upper and lower levels hosting additional free exhibitions concurrently.
