What is the Australia national animal?

Kangaroo is Australia national animal as it was recognised as an official symbol of Australia in 1908 – on the nation’s Coat of Arms.

When you look at the Coat of Arms, you will notice the shield is held up by the native Australian animals which are the Kangaroo and the Emu, which were chosen to symbolise a nation moving forward, based on the fact that neither animal can move backwards easily.
