We’re so excited that I visited the Titanic in our lifetime! Relive the Titanic, experience history up close, and step into the stories of that era. Melbourne’s museum recently hosted a Titanic-themed event, attracting many history and movie enthusiasts! It brought us into the memories of that era, allowing us to feel the splendour and eventual downfall of the Titanic. From its construction, glory, and worldwide acclaim to its gradual descent into the ocean depths.
The experience
The highlight of this exhibition is that upon entering, the staff will randomly give you a Titanic boarding pass with different real passenger information and stories on the back!
What shocked us was that we got the ticket for a third-class textile worker. Even the life of such a small character is carefully recorded. Through this exhibition, more people are told that such a person once existed in this world.
At the end of the exhibition, there is a list of survivors and victims. We can find the fate of the person corresponding to our ticket. It’s really detailed!
The exhibition hall has over two hundred real artefacts salvaged from the shipwreck site. The setting of the exhibition faithfully reproduces the interior scenes of the Titanic.
The lighting, music, and scenes give people a feeling of time and space interweaving!
At the beginning, it is the gorgeous and bright first-class cabin with elegant and soothing music. Then the cabin gradually becomes simpler, and the music becomes heavier.
At the end is the cabin submerged on the day of the shipwreck, with dangerous crimson lighting. After that is the desperate scene of the cabin being swallowed by the deep sea. Inside, you can even touch a real corner of the iceberg. It’s so shocking, so real. Even though it’s just a lighting effect, I feel like I can’t breathe.
The Titanic is truly a classic. The contrast between the first-class, second-class, and third-class cabins, and the comparison of the number of survivors and casualties in each cabin at the end, reveal the stark contrast of class and wealth. It’s a profoundly insightful exhibition.
