Summer came quickly to Burleigh with temperatures close to 30 degrees on Saturdays. We’ve planned to visit the new Gold Coast park, which opened in August last year. We’ve been eagerly waiting for hot weather to combine water and park fun in one perfect day.

The park’s facilities are suitable for kids aged 4 and above. The climbing features are challenging, and there are many kids, so it’s not ideal for very young children.

The four-story high slide is lots of fun, and they’ve thoughtfully installed some lights inside. There’s also a sandpit, water pump, trampolines, and swing sets.

Right next to the park, there’s an extremely shallow beach. Since there are no waves in the Broadwater, it’s very safe, and even younger kids can play.

We strongly recommend arriving early! Otherwise, parking can be a challenge. We got there at 9:30, and there were plenty of parking spaces available, with no traffic congestion.

Parking: The official website mentions free 4-hour parking (which we didn’t see). We parked in a paid area, which cost $2.6 per hour on Saturdays. It seems you can park for up to 8 hours. You can search for the address 95 Marine Parade, Southport QLD, which makes it easier to find the park and parking area.

They have BBQ facilities, but you need to book in advance. If you plan to spend the whole day, it’s a good idea to bring extra food, as there’s only a small convenience store nearby.

Overall, this playground has quite a variety of activities. There are BBQ facilities, various play structures, and it’s right next to the beach. The only downside is that the restrooms are quite far away. You really need to keep a close eye on the kids because in the blink of an eye, they can disappear. It wasn’t just us; there were many others in the park who had the experience of frantically searching for their kids!
