Finally snagged a reservation at this yakitori spot (Goryon San) we’ve been eyeing for six months! No wonder so many people are raving about it on social media, the flavours are absolutely flawless. Their set menus are priced at 69 AUD and 89 AUD per person (the difference is in the starters: 69 includes a salad and beef tartare salad, while 89 includes foie gras sashimi and tempura shrimp in sweet vinegar sauce). And we opted for the 89 AUD set!
Their skewers were especially impressive, including:
- Grilled Wagyu
- Grilled Pork Belly
- Bacon-wrapped Scallops
- Bacon-wrapped Lettuce
- Grilled Shiitake Mushrooms
They keep it simple with fresh ingredients, salt, soy sauce, and a few seasonings, which bring out all the natural flavors. It’s truly a reminder of how delicious high-quality grilled skewers can be.
Goryon San has a large open kitchen where you can watch the skewers being grilled right in front of you, such a treat! Unlike most skewer places, this one is smoke-free, thanks to their electric grills. So, you don’t need to worry about leaving with a smoky scent!
Be sure to book in advance, as walk-ins are rarely possible. This spot is absolutely worth a visit.
