We checked out The Grounds’ newly opened coffee factory (you can Google The Grounds Coffee Factory) in South Eveleigh. It was pretty cool to see the whole coffee-making and packaging process while eating. The overall green, vintage industrial style is exactly my vibe. The staff wearing green jumpsuits were adorable, and there was also a lady pushing a dessert cart around!
Sydney has added another Grounds coffee factory, located in Eveleigh, which just opened a week ago. The space is huge with plenty of seating. We visited around noon on a weekday, and it was still quite busy. For walk-ins, the wait is about an hour, but bar seating is faster – we waited for about 15 minutes. Strongly recommend booking in advance (via Instagram or OpenTable), especially 3-4 days ahead if you plan to visit on the weekend. I’ve heard that weekend walk-ins may face a 2-hour wait!
What we ordered
- Club Sandwich – Packed with chicken, bacon, fried egg, avocado, and veggies, served with thin fries that were absolutely delicious. The portion size is huge; we couldn’t finish it all!
- Beef Ragu Pappardelle – Features chunks of slow-braised beef topped with horseradish cream (which tastes a bit like mustard). The flavour was strong, and we weren’t quite used to the horseradish taste. However, the beef paired wonderfully with the pasta!
- Iced peach long black (not too bitter!)
- Almond latte (you can choose your coffee beans which is nice)
- Desserts – A staff member pushes a dessert cart to your table! Showcasing a selection of daily cakes and tarts. We didn’t try any this time since we were too full from the mains, but the staff recommended the chocolate caramel tart. If you visit later in the day, many cakes may be sold out.
