Another day of dessert as a meal! This (Lulu and me) is a cheesecake shop hidden in the Collingwood area of Melbourne specialising in Basque cheesecake. The store just opened this month and there were a lot of people lining up when we went, but we got through quickly. We recommend going early to avoid missing out and making a wasted trip!
They offer a total of six cheesecake flavours:
- No bake (Lemon)
- Pandan
- New York (Classic cheesecake)
- Basque (Molten cheesecake, which was sold out when we got there)
- Japanese (Soft cheesecake)
- There was also a caramel flavour offered for tasting by a staff member, which personally we found to be the best! It was our first time encountering cheesecake available for tasting, and the staff member was very friendly.
What we think
We tried most of the flavours and they were all delicious; we don’t think anyone wouldn’t love them!
The texture of the cakes is delicate and not overly sweet and we absolutely love it! Personally, our favourites are Pandan and Basque as they’re rich and silky smooth in flavour.
At this shop, the cheesecakes are sold by weight after being sliced, which is quite unique.
They allow tasting before deciding which flavour to choose, which is a big plus! This is definitely a dessert shop we’ll visit again.
This shop doesn’t have seating; everything is for takeaway. I highly recommend everyone to go and try it out!
They open only four days a week, from Thursday to Sunday, each day from 9 am to 2 pm. When we arrived around one o’clock on Saturday afternoon, the line stretched beyond the factory gates and snaked through the building, which made us curious about just how delicious this cheesecake could be!
