Located next to Glenferrie train station in Hawthorn, we stumbled upon this shop (Joli Dessert) while browsing the street. It’s newly renovated and just opened, with a fresh and natural vibe. There’s a trendy photo spot on the right as you enter, and the wall has graffiti perfect for pictures.
The coconut jelly has a super smooth texture, rich coconut flavour, and is layered, coconut milk jelly on top and coconut water jelly on the bottom. There are many jarred coconut dessert options, and you can add your favourite toppings too. The staff are lovely and very friendly!
What we tried
We ordered the matcha red bean and Nutella banana flavours, both of which were super delicious. The matcha red bean mochi was perfectly chewy, with the sweetness of the red bean complementing the slight bitterness of the matcha, making it irresistible.
The Nutella and banana combo was a perfect match, with the rich chocolate flavour of Nutella blending beautifully with the sweet banana.
The atmosphere in the shop is very cozy, great for hanging out with friends or enjoying dessert alone. we hope they introduce more flavours and toppings in the future for even more choices!
