Melbourne’s New Playground – Officer District Park

Melbourne's New Playground - Officer District Park

We visited this newly built playground – Officer District Park, designed to fit the terrain with super long slides and plenty of fun options for climbing the hills. The playground is massive, covering almost every play structure you can think of. There’s even a dedicated area for younger kids, making it perfect for families with toddlers. Plenty of parking spaces are available nearby, but the place gets quite busy with visitors.

Built on a hilltop, the view is absolutely stunning, making it a amazing spot to visit. We went in the afternoon, and it was pretty crowded. Kids of all ages were having a great time.

In the kids’ area, there are plenty of play facilities, including two super long 20-meter slides, suitable for kids over 120cm and adventurous adults. There’s also a section specifically for babies and toddlers.

The parkour zone is a fantastic spot for kids to practice balance, run, climb, and jump freely. Surrounding the hill is a 1km circular track, perfect for a relaxing walk.

The park is also dog-friendly, with a designated off-leash area where your furry friends can run freely.

Parking and restrooms are available, and the water play area is perfect for summer fun. Covered BBQ spots are also available for a picnic day out.

Currently, the biggest downside is the lack of shaded areas. But with its giant slides and vast play options, this might just be one of the best free playgrounds around!
