A new hot air balloon-themed playground has opened in Belsay Reserve. It’s a bit far, about a 50-minute drive from the city, but we just can’t resist taking the kids to check it out! At first glance, it seems like there are just two giant balloons, not very tall, but once you get closer, you’ll find there’s more than meets the eye. Inside, it’s all climbing nets, definitely worth the visit!
This playground is perfect for taking photos, just like seeing hot air balloons floating over a valley. Imagine the amazing photos you’ll take of your kids, perfect for their holiday recount once school starts. They’ll be the coolest kid in class for sure!
What we think about the new Chirnside Urban Park Playground
The balloons themselves are climbing mazes. Once the kids climb up the main structure, they’ll be fully enclosed inside the balloon, with ropes crisscrossing inside, allowing little adventurers to reach the top. It looks really safe.
Other highlights include built-in trampolines, an accessible spinning carousel, swings, a giant flying fox, rain cloud water features, plenty of puzzle games! There are also picnic tables and a double BBQ facility.
Parking is very convenient! In addition to the playground’s own parking spots, you can also park at the Kmart parking lot across the street!
This newly popular playground isn’t very huge, but it stands out for its unique design. If you live far away and are planning to visit, we recommend also checking out the Maroondah Golf Park which is just a 4-minute drive away!
