The super popular cake painting trend in Japan has come to Melbourne! There’s a store in South Melbourne where you can try it out. After you’re done, you can easily go see the ocean which it’s super convenient!
The place is called the Meeya Cafe (Address – 191 Clarendon St, South Melbourne). They also serve brunch, but we didn’t order any since we had already had lunch. We saw other tables ordering, and the presentation looked great!
What we think
The cake costs under $20. The taste is just okay, but it’s a novel experience. It’s perfect for a fun outing with friends, a date, or even taking kids out!
Although we have no talent for painting, It’s still quite fun to experience, After painting, you can eat the cake, The cake itself is an old-fashioned type that we like, The cream is a bit hard and on the sweeter side, The latte wasn’t bad.
There are also many specialty drinks in the store that we really want to try, Like biscoff latte/espresso creme brûlée/tiramisu cold brew, we also saw someone order strawberry matcha!
We went on a Sunday, and maybe because it was newly opened or something, we waited an hour and a half for the cake. The weekend surcharge of 30% is quite high.
