Melbourne Cable Park and Aqua Park
We were looking for a way to let our little one burn some energy on the weekends, but we were hesitant to take her to an indoor amusement park. We stumbled upon Melbourne Cable Park on Little Red Book and decided to give it a try. It’s an excellent choice for outdoor fun, and you can enjoy it from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Address: 5 Riverend Road Bangholme VIC 3175 (Just about a half-hour drive from the southeast)
This park offers several different activities. Since it was our first visit, we decided to try out the two most exciting ones, with plans to explore the rest later.
Activity 1: Obstacle course
- Kids Climb: This area is perfect for children aged 1 meter to 1.4 meters. Parents can accompany their kids as they climb, and the obstacles are not very high above the ground. The climbing course takes about an hour and a half. My daughter climbed it twice, but then she was too tired.
- Urban High Ropes: For this, you need to be at least 125 cm tall, and kids under 140 cm need parental supervision. It’s more challenging and much higher. Suitable for older children. The climbing session lasts for one hour, with an additional 15-minute briefing.
Activity 2: Aqua Park
This water activity is something most kids enjoy. Kids under 10 need adult supervision. Life jackets are provided. There are nearby gazebos where parents can relax or participate. The session lasts for about 50 minutes, with an additional 15-minute briefing.
Activity 3: Cable Wakeboarding
For those who enjoy wakeboarding, there are various courses available. We only looked around and gave it a try to experience something new.
Activity 4: Outdoor Movies and Live Music
There are many tables and chairs in the park, so you can bring a picnic blanket and snacks. It’s incredibly relaxing to sit down and enjoy an ice cream. However, we didn’t watch the movie this time because our child was too tired and needed to refuel with some protein.
We purchased the Combo Ticket, which included 1 hour of Aqua Fun Park and 1 hour of Kids Climb for $39. We had a great time and felt it was very worthwhile.
