Area 51 Playground – Brisbane’s Largest Indoor Playground
We decided to go to Area 51 on the weekend. Well, let’s just say we wanted to ensure our little one was developing some new skills. As bold and adventurous parents, we decided to get hands-on this time, with a focus on tackling the giant tire slides!
Honestly, maybe we’ve gotten used to our annual passes at the big theme parks, but we find ourselves quite at ease each time we bring our kid here. No rush, no fuss. We just pick what we want to do and leave whenever we fancy some good food outside. When it comes to single-entry tickets and the clock, we hardly even notice!
Maybe it’s because the place is so huge, but there seems to be a lot of staff around. For the big tire slides this time, there was a short period when an employee directed the kids in line. After that, it was the parents’ turn to step in and help, along with the kids talking amongst themselves. After all, the tires are limited, and some kids were going up and down several times, not willing to give up! If your child is under 13, it’s still recommended to have a parent accompany them throughout!
Play area for different age groups
Area 51 is suitable for ages 6 and up. Some areas, like the bump beds, aren’t allowed for kids under 2. The play areas for little babies are still quite limited. Kids aged 2-6 can focus on the trampolines, ball pits, and some climbing mazes. There’s also a soccer field to keep an eye on your child’s interests!
For kids aged 6 and up, they can enjoy more challenging and thrilling activities. It’s perfect for children not afraid of heights. They can try rock climbing, aerial zip lines, and other skill-based activities. For children aged 6-9, it takes time to build their skills. Just trying it out and playing multiple times can help them improve. Rome wasn’t built in a day, after all!
The birthday party rooms are always packed. Aside from the party rooms, some public seating tables are put together with reserved signs on them, and there are balloons everywhere. It’s a real party atmosphere!
Food
We’ve been here a couple of times, and each time, the main offerings were pizza, fruit salad, hamburgers, and chilled coffee drinks in the food court area. The first time we came, they had ice cream, but it wasn’t available this time. The second time, we saw a friend grab some Chinese pancakes on the soccer field. And on the third visit today, there was no ice cream available. The food counter managed most of the food, and they also catered to the party reservations. The pizza was prepared quite quickly, in about 5-6 minutes.
Tips
For a seamless experience, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance on the official website and reserving your time slot, especially on weekends. Otherwise, you might find everything sold out with no available time slots left!
