Queenstown travel

Queenstown, one of the most suitable tourist destinations in the world. The local scenery alone is enough to attract countless people to flock here! The lake is so clear that you can see the bottom at a glance, and the beauty of the natural landscapes is showcased to the fullest here. In winter, the town’s climate is quite mild, with the nearby mountains covered in white snow, making it a natural ski resort.

Things To Do in Queenstown

Take a cruise on the TSS Earnslaw steamship to explore the scenic beauty of the lake and mountains

Board the TSS Earnslaw steamship in Queenstown to experience a glimpse of a bygone era – it’s an iconic vessel that characterises Queenstown. The TSS Earnslaw steamship has been in operation since 1912 and is the largest and most luxurious cruise ship on Lake Wakatipu. It is said to be the only remaining coal-fired steamship still operating in the Southern Hemisphere.

The steamship makes several round trips daily on Lake Wakatipu, reaching the Walter Peak High Country Farm on the western shore. Taking a ride on this spacious vintage cruiser is the ideal way to admire the breathtaking mountain scenery of Queenstown.

Skydiving

You can directly book through their official website (Nzone). After booking, you will gather in the city centre at the appointed time, and a bus will take you to the skydiving base. The journey takes 25 minutes. You can also drive to the base yourself, but on the day of the jump, you still need to go to the city centre in the morning to register because the city’s registration office provides instructions for the jump preparations!

The entire skydiving process is operated by professional instructors. As long as you have the courage, you can experience the adrenaline-pumping thrill of flying!

Paragliding

Compared to skydiving, paragliding is much gentler. Since you don’t need to rent an airplane, the cost is significantly lower. For those who can’t handle skydiving, this is a great option. Professional instructors accompany and operate with you, safety rating stars!

Hot Air Ballooning

Riding a hot air balloon in the gentle morning light provides a wide view from high above. You can overlook not only Queenstown but also Arrowtown, Glenorchy, and the surrounding mountains and rivers. It’s truly an unforgettable memory.

Jet Boating

Super high-speed thrilling navigation, allowing you to experience a wet version of speed and excitement. The excitement level is no less than skydiving and bungee jumping.

Does Queenstown have good food?

Fergburger

A very popular burger joint, their exclusive secret recipe burgers are delicious, especially recommended is the signature Fergburger. Whoever eats the double-layered joy knows how tasty it is! Fat Badgers

Pizzas

The number one pizza place in the locals’ hearts, with an ultra-thin crust that becomes incredibly crispy after high-temperature baking! The signature all-meat pizza has a rich cheesy aroma, and there are also many lovely servers in the restaurant.

Flame bar & grill

If you love fries, you must try their Poutine; the fries are soaked in meat juices and cheese. It’s incredibly satisfying when you take a bite. This way of eating fries is quite unique and flavourful.
