A Sydney Ramen Shop that Feels Just Like Japan

A Sydney Ramen Shop that Feels Just Like Japan Ramen Auru

One of Sydney’s hottest ramen spots recently, the Ramen Auru. One of our friends took us to this ramen place. It felt just like a restaurant in Japan, with the tatami seating we’ve always wanted to try, something we missed even when we visited Japan! Here you will find very Japanese-looking vending machine only prints out order tickets, and the staff uses a calculator to manually charge customers – a very quaint touch!

What we think about the ramen

We ordered the Rich Tonkotsu and Yuzu Chicken Ramen, plus a bowl of Chashu Don. Except for the Chashu Don which we find was a bit average, the two ramen dishes could easily rank first or second in Sydney!

Their Tonkotsu, with normal firmness noodles, rich broth, and regular back fat. The soup was flavourful and piping hot, the thin noodles were firm and absorbed the broth well, and the saltiness was just right for an authentic rich Tonkotsu.

The Yuzu chicken broth was fresh and sweet! The chicken looks dry but is actually tender!

If the wait is less than half an hour, we’d go there every week!

For our first visit, we waited an hour and had to go all the way to the CBA to get cash, which was exhausting! Learned the hard way that the Woolworths nearby requires a physical card for cash out. The nearby NAB doesn’t allow cardless cash withdrawals either!
