St Kilda Adventure Playground

(0) Price:

St Kilda Adventure Playground can be dubbed as the ultimate slide haven in Adelaide right now – it’s seriously massive and gorgeous. It’s a bit of a trek from the city centre, taking roughly over half an hour by car. But, trust me, it’s a whole day of fun with the kids.

Experience

Choose a sunny morning, pack up water, and all sorts of snacks, and don’t forget those sun hats. The park is nestled by the sea, and you can even catch a hint of that salty breeze. From afar, you can see the industrial-style slides inside, laid out like a giant robot crouching there.

When my little one was just over two, it was all about Dad carrying her and playing. But now, at three, she’s all over the smaller slides herself. Don’t be too scared by some of the tall ones – they’re pretty well-equipped with safety features.

Also, the pirate ship with its two massive swings is super photogenic. So, if you’re into snapping pics, don’t miss that. Of course, if your little one is too young, there’s a toddler park included in the mix.

Tips

  1. Seriously, try to avoid school holidays. It gets so crowded that you’ll wonder if every kid in Adelaide is here.
  2. Bring plenty of water and snacks.
  3. Hats and shades are a must.
  4. If you’re a slide enthusiast, pick your footwear wisely. Some shoes come with built-in brakes.
  5. It can get windy by the beach, so dress warmly.

Pirate ship

Kids with pirate dreams can experience a realistic pirate ship on the beach, complete with a two-story ship model, a captain’s cabin, and cannon models! As soon as they step on board, kids will feel like they’ve entered a pirate world. This ship is located right by St Kilda Adventure Playground, on the beach, just beyond a small hill.

After the pirate ship experience, you can also play at Adelaide’s top-ranked large playground, featuring high tube slides that are quite thrilling and suitable for older kids.

The yellow structure is the toddler area, so even little ones can join in! On a sunny summer day, this area is all free!

Along the way, there’s also Pink Lake to admire. Friends visiting Adelaide for fun shouldn’t miss it.
