Badgers Brook Winery Playground
Today, we conquered the scorching heat and took the little one to Badger’s Brook Winery’s outdoor playground. The kid had a blast, and we enjoyed a glass of wine.
The playground has quite a few attractions. You enter through two giant wine bottle-shaped structures by the roadside. On your left, you’ll find a row of creatively designed swings. Inside, there’s a slide castle, trampolines, and a tree house. It’s more suitable for younger children, as the older ones might find it too tame. It’s best to bring a group of little friends along; they’ll have a whole day of fun.
Playground
It’s basically a giant playground for kids. Having visited several wineries in Melbourne, this one is super kid-friendly and perfect for a family day out. It’s a great spot for photos and keeping the little ones entertained!
They have a ton of swings, not kidding, plus an outdoor trampoline area with ocean balls and a Velcro wall, a playground with rope climbers and flying foxes, an outdoor play area, and a massive castle house!
Wine tasting
Towards the back of the playground, there’s a dining area with shaded seating. You can order a glass of red wine. When ordering, you can ask one of the restaurant staff (a lovely Chinese lady) for a wine menu. I went with the popular rose wine, which costs $10 per glass.
Inside, you can also do some wine tasting or purchase wine. The tasting fee is around $5, and if you plan to buy a bottle after tasting, they’ll usually waive the tasting fee.
Food
The basic menu offers fish and chips, chicken nuggets, and dumplings. It’s probably a good idea to bring your own food and drinks.
Next time, we’ll definitely pick a cooler day to visit. Although there’s shade for the ocean balls and treehouse, the trampolines and slides are a bit of a challenge under the blazing sun. Overall, it’s the unique sculptures that steal the show, making it a great spot for taking photos.
