Air Playground – Scienceworks
The Scienceworks museum is perfect for strolling with kids. This time, we mainly brought our kids to the newly opened Air Playground area, which is a new section of the museum. It’s incredibly suitable for kids, and every installation in the venue is an interactive game.
Children’s playground activities with the theme of air.
The venue is divided into several sections
Wind Tunnel Experience
Provides a simulated wind tunnel for children to experience the power of the wind firsthand, and learn about airflow and the principles of wind by suspending gauze in the air using the force of the wind.
Balloon Experiment
Demonstrates the properties of gases, such as expansion and contraction, using balloons to engage children in fun gas experiments.
Air Quality Interaction
Introduces air quality monitoring through pipes, using gauze as a substitute for sensors to display the air quality in urban pipes, guiding children to understand environmental protection knowledge.
Paper Planes
Through hands-on creation of paper planes, introduces the principles of flight for planes, balloons, and kites, allowing children to participate in the making and test flights. There is a dedicated test flight area where they can see the length of their plane’s flight. If several friends go together, they can even have a competition.
Air Pressure Experiment
Uses a suction pump to demonstrate the principles of air pressure. While pulling a weighted ball, the air pressure generated on this side can bounce coloured balls from another transparent tube, allowing children to experience the characteristics of gases firsthand.
There’s also an inflatable castle, pressure table, and more.
Through these displays and activities, children can learn about air-related scientific knowledge in a cheerful atmosphere, sparking curiosity about the natural world and science.
